126 2 CRAIGIE, J & W, MONTROSE, SCOTLAND: A flanged back "Hand Forged Dandy" Putter circa 1915-20. "J & W Craigie, Montrose" and their "rifle" mark on the back. Hosel and shaft are oval shaped. A nice unusual putter. G-7 $190.

126 7 JAQUES, J & SONS, LONDON: An all original circa 1900 straight blade steel Putter with "J Jaques & Sons, London" on the back. Very scarce and seldom offered. G-7 $95

126 8 PARK, WILLIE, MUSSELBURGH, SCOTLAND: A Bent Neck Putter with dot punches added to the original smooth face. Markings nearly "emoried" from the back. "Wm Park" stamped into the original shaft below the replacement grip over original listing. G-4 $135.

126 9 PATRICK, DAVID: "David Patrick Maker" in a double oval on an off set dot punched blade putter circa 1915. Owner's initials "G J H" stamped at toe. A nice all original putter. G-7+ $75

126 14 STANDARD GOLF CO, SUNDERLAND, ENGLAND: "Vardon 'S S' Model" stamped on the sole of a Medium lie aluminum mallet. Two minor hairline hosel cracks undoubtedly the result of the reshafting by Forgan. G-7 $135

126 15 STANDARD GOLF CO, SUNDERLAND, ENGLAND: "TAFT" in large block lettering near the toe of an outstanding circa 1915-20 "The New Mills Ray Model" with a Medium lie. The hosel is sound and all head stampings are deep and bold. Grip is a nice leather play grip. President Taft is known to have used an aluminum mallet putter. The stamped "TAFT" letters appear to be as old as the putter. G-8 $150

126 31 ANDERSON, ANDERSON, ANDERSON, LONDON: The Anderson, Anderson, Anderson, London massive "Lion and Globe" mark is rarely found full; this one, on a Mashie-Niblick, is struck up at the perimeters and not in the centers. The original shaft was shortened. G-5 $165.

126 32 ANDERSON, JAMES, ANSTRUTHER, SCOTLAND: "Anderson of Anstruther" with the tiny circle mark on a circa 1900 Cleek with an "Emoried" sweet spot. Original looking shaft with a replacement grip. G-6 $135

126 33 ANDERSON, JAMES, ANSTRUTHER, SCOTLAND: An early James Anderson General Purpose Iron circa 1870, the large head having a hooked face and thick hosel. The top of blade and hosel join are squared off indicative of early hand forgings. The hosel had long jagged saw tooth nicking which was trimmed when the shaft, bearing Forgan's stamp, was replaced. Anderson's tiny mark is faintly identifyable on the back. A nice example of Jamie's early forgings. G-6 $650

126 34 ANDERSON OF ANSTRUTHER, SCOTLAND: A RARE "LION and GLOBE" smooth face Lofting Iron with about 75% of the large mark fully struck. "Anderson Anstruther" small "Circular" mark is at the toe. G-6 $250

126 35 CANN & TAYLOR, LONDON, ENGLAND: Circa 1905-10 smooth face mashie with an unusual hosel nicking pattern. Probably made by "J H Taylor". Back of club "emoried" smooth. Replaced grip. $75

126 44 FORGAN, ROBERT, ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND: Circa 1895 smooth face General Purpose Iron with "R Forgan & Sons, St. Andrews" above Charles Brand's tiny "Thistle" mark. Replacement shaft and grip look original. G-6 $175.

126 45 FORGAN, ROBERT, ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND: A nice circa 1880 short face Cleek, the head and shaft stamped "R Forgan & Sons, St Andrews". The hosel is 4 1/2 inches long with saw tooth nicking and has a "Squared Off" top of blade and hosel join indicative of pre-1890 forging. Grip is an old original looking sheep skin. $290.

126 46 GIBSON, CHARLES, WESTWARD HO!, ENGLAND: A "Special Sammy" circa pre-1913 with Frank Johnson's "Key" mark and "C Gibson" (Westward Ho!) on the back. "Special Sammy" is deep and bold at the toe. G-6 $90

126 48 GIBSON, WILLIAM, KINGHORN, SCOTLAND: Circa 1920's Mid-iron with a bordered hyphen face, flanged back stamped "Maxwell Mid-iron" with 12 wrap around "Maxwell" holes drilled into the hosel. G-6 $85

126 49 GIBSON, WILLIAM, KINGHORN, SCOTLAND: "Wm Gibson & Co., Ltd, Kinghorn, Scotland" stamped on the back of an outstanding circa 1910-15 dot punched face "Deep Face Mashie". G-8 $95

126 50 GIBSON, WILLIAM, KINGHORN, SCOTLAND: A "Maxwell Niblick" with a flanged sole and 12 holes drilled in groups of three vertically into the hosel. Shaft is a replacement. This will make a very playable sand iron with the flanged sole as well as an unusual collectible. G-7 $125

126 51 HENDRY & BISHOP, LT'D, EDINBURGH & LEITH: A large head "Spade Niblick" nearly measuring "Giant" niblick size. G-7 $150

126 52 LUNN & CO., LONDON" A circa 1895 Cleek stamped "The Balfour" with "Lunn & Co." above and "London" below. Shaft looks like Lemonwood and the grip is an old sheep skin. Georgiady lists a "Balfour" and a short hosel. This has BOTH "Balfour" and a short hosel. Stampings are deep and bold. A very nice and very scarce example. G-7+ $175

126 61 PATRICK, ALEX, LEVEN, FIFE, SCOTLAND: "A Patrick, Leven" on a "Diamond" back "Mid-iron" with the seldom seen circa 1920's "Spur" maker's mark at the heel. Replaced shaft. G-6 $75.00

126 62 PAXTON, PETER, EASTBOURNE: P Paxton, West Norwood" on back of a circa 1894 General Purpose Iron with a squared off top of blade and hosel join. According to Georgiady, Paxton was at West Norwood only during 1894. Shaft is an original with a period type replacement grip. G-5 $250

126 63 PAXTON, PETER, TOOTING BEC: "P Paxton, Tooting Bec" boldly stamped below a tiny Rampant Lion on back of a circa late 19th Century smooth face Lofting Iron with a thick saw tooth nicked hosel. The grip is a wrapped leather replacement over the original shaft. A nice example. G-7 $350

126 64 RAMSBOTTOM, MANCHESTER: A circa 1895 ladies smooth face Cleek stamped "Ramsbottom, Manchester". Shaft and grip have been replaced. Very scarce and seldom offered maker. G-5 $225

126 66 SAYERS, BEN, NORTH BERWICK: Circa 1915 deep face dot punched "Dunedin Mashie Iron" with "Ben Sayers" in script on the back. Replacement grip on the original shaft. G-6 $75

126 68 ST ANDREW GOLF CO, DUNFIRMLINE & GLASGOW: A scarce "Hawkins Never Rust Mashie" with the "Running Stag" mark on a flanged back scarcity. The seldom seen "The St Andrew Golf Co. Lt'd" double circle mark is also on the back. The reshafting was not well done. An interesting display club. G-6 $65

126 69 ST ANDREW GOLF CO, DUNFIRMLINE & GLASGOW: A "Special Rustless Niblick" with a large line scored head. "48" and the "Running Stag" marks are at the toe. Shaft is original with a replacement wrapped leather grip. G-7 $75

126 70 STEWART, J, BLACKPOOL, ENGLAND: A "Glory Mashie Niblick" with a diamond back design most likely made by David Anderson & Sons. Nicely reshafted and having a Whitcombe patented all weather grip. G-6 $80

126 71 STEWART, TOM, ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND: Circa 1905-1910 smooth face "Special Mashie Niblick" imported and stamped by "A L Johnson, Boston". Hosel has 1/4 inch long nicking. Looks all original. G-7 $70.00

126 75 UNKNOWN MAKER: A circa 1890-1900 smooth face, saw tooth nicked hosel Cleek with all back stampings emoried away. The ASH shaft has a replacement period type grip. G-5 $125

126 76 UNKNOWN MAKER: "Scotsman" in small block letters on the back of a circa 1890-1895 smooth face Iron. On the shaft, just below the grip, "Iron" has been stamped in tiny letters. G-6 $145

126 77 UNKNOWN MAKER: A circa 1895 smooth face Iron with a ONE PIECE sewn grip similar to the Bussey Grip. The club is 41 inches long and all back markings have been emoried away. G-6 $150.

126 78 UNKNOWN MAKER: A nice circa 1890-1895 Lofter stamped "Scotsman" in small block letters on the back. The Hickory shaft is very thin and has an interesting "spindle" shape where it enters the hosel. Shaft has either been shortened or originally made for a lady. Quite scarce and not listed in Georgiady's 1998 Value Guide. G-7 $195

126 79 UNKNOWN MAKER: A circa 1880-1885 Cleek with an emoried sweet spot and made in the "Carrick" style. Period shaft with a period grip. G-5 $290

126 80 UNKNOWN MAKER: Circa 1875 BLACKSMITH made General Purpose Iron with forging seams visible in the hosel and back of the hooked, dish faced head. The top of blade and hosel join are squared off indicative of early hand forgings. The hosel is thick at the top and has long jagged saw tooth nicking which was trimmed when the shaft was replaced.
